My daughter's brought me here for Mother's Day and everything was perfect. Food was amazing. Service was very good .. thank you Sean. Only thing missing was pie lol .. but we will be back for some!

My experience here was decent! We got the bread and butter which I wouldn’t get again. The rolls have a lot of salt on them making it kind of unenjoyable. Our entrées(steak, chicken and dumplings, and meatloaf) were okay, some food was under seasoned. My food came out later because they overcooked my steak, but they gave me a salad so I still was able to eat with everyone. Steak was the best thing I had, would definitely get again. I would come back but not in a hurry.

A bartender from another local restaurant had high praise for a very specific dish at Rood, so I had to stop in to try it. And OMG they were spot on. The dish in question was the BBQ carrots. It has every texture you could dream of. I don’t know how they got the carrots to be both crispy on the outside and soft in the center at the same time. Plus the balance of spices that you can’t find anywhere else. It was perfect. I didn’t think that could get better, but it did. The duck breast was phenomenal. I haven’t had crispy duck like that since I lived in France. It takes a very skilled chef to master those techniques. Again, it was extremely balanced with the fruit and greens puréed with the braising liquid. Everything was so balanced. I didn’t have room for pie, but I took a slice home for later. Looking forward to diving into that soon. The service here is also something that can’t be beat. They offered great drink recommendations that paired perfectly with the plates! Don’t skip on this place. They’ve got something special here.

Superb top to bottom. We had the Koji bread plate, charred octopus, sweet potato katsu, and the meatloaf with the apple custard pie for dessert. We had been before and really enjoyed the dessert but weren’t overly impressed with the other food. However, they recently changed owners and introduced a new menu. Every single dish was outstanding, with the bread plate being a sleeper pick. Flavors were super sharp and unique. Service was unrivaled, Zach was extremely attentive and friendly as were all the other staff we interacted with. Vibe was charming and comfortable. Probably the best dining experience we have had recently!

Would definitely recommend. We ordered several dishes and all were good. Great drinks, food, and the pie was amazing!!
