I adore Heck’s. It’s the kind of neighborhood institution that feels like a second home. There’s an intangible familiarity here, a quiet comfort rooted not just in the ambiance, but in the team—many of whom have been there for years. It has that elusive “locals only” energy, which only adds to its charm. Heck’s hasn’t endured purely on its warm, welcoming atmosphere alone. The food and beverage is consistently strong. I often stop in simply for fries and a cocktail—both of which are standouts. The fries arrive piping hot, crisp, and perfectly cut and seasoned. Their spicy margarita is again perfect—well-balanced: bold, with just enough heat, sweet balanced with sour. They tend to disappear a bit too quickly—a testament to how well-executed they are. On a recent visit, I discovered the “sweet burger”—a fun dessert composed of a brownie and ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies, styled as a burger and served with funnel cake fries and a raspberry coulis “ketchup.” The cookies and brownie were standard, but the funnel cake fries with the coulis were phenomenal. I’d order it again purely for the funnel cake fries, coulis and the fun factor. All in all, Heck’s remains a beloved neighbourhood classic.

The portion size was generous without being overdone, making it a healthy and satisfying choice. Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was inviting, making the whole experience feel both relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!”

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Great selection of burgers and other main dishes, and the drink menu also offers a nice variety. My kid ordered salmon which ended up being undercooked, but it was handled promptly. Nice staff, unique ambiance with character.

Fantastic food and service. Angel is exactly the definition of her name! She took the time to check in with us and helped us order from the menu (it was our first time there). Everything was made to perfection and we really enjoyed our meal, the care, and the environment. Will definitely return when in need of a savory meal

Definitely a favorite for lunch and happy hour. The food is always phenomenal and the drinks are great. I love the location and the service is always top tier. Highly recommend!
