DO NOT GET YOUR LOAN WITH CROSS COUNTRY MORTGAGE. We had our house listed for sale for over a year while they held our loan. They valued the home at $629k when we bought it and had to relocate 2.5 hours away and could not find a buyer, so we asked Cross Country what our options were. They said we had no options for assistance until we were 30 days delinquent on a mortgage payment. This was a LIE. Then we called after 30 days and they told us we had to be 60 days delinquent. This was another LIE. Then we called again and they took a month to process our request to approve us for a short sale. Once we were, we dropped the price and found a buyer immediately. Cross Country then proceeded to take FOUR MONTHS to allow us to close on the sale after finding a buyer. They also sold the home for $30k less than was offered by the prospective buyers. For perspective: we applied for the loan, was approved, and closed on the house within 3 WEEKS when we were buying the house. And then they told us it dropped $125k in value in ONE year AND that they couldn’t close any faster than 4 months? Bullshit. Cross Country Mortgage deliberately damaged our credit so that we could not apply for another loan due to circumstances outside our control. We would have never been delinquent one single payment if they hadn’t told us we had to be. We now can’t qualify for ANY kind of loan because of their intentional decision to give us false information and lead us in circles. CROSS COUNTRY IS NOT A TRUSTWORTHY LENDER. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

Can seem easy at first, but in the end can be rude and petty about certain information that's not necessary especially if the credit report is ok and the payoff is low. Very stressful and disrespectful.

I've taken the time to read all these great reviews, unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I had a lot of difficulties with one particular loan officer. At first he was really nice but when I was offered a better deal with my current mortgage, this loan agent turned unprofessional. From the research I've done, CrossCountry Mortgage has a very good reputation. Unfortunately I had the worst experience. Not only was the loan officer unprofessional, he was childish and vindictive. Make sure when dealing with this office that you ask for one of the loan officers listed in the reviews posted. Otherwise you may get unlucky. Very sad that I had to file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In 45 years of being in the workforce, I have never worked with any financial service where the behavior I dealt with was acceptable. Coming from the financial sector, I would have been removed from employment had I treated a customer the way I was treated. Consumer beware and research.

Terrible experience. If you want to be lied to, conned out of $550 for an appraisal on a property they end up not approving you on 4 days before closing after ghosting you and your title company because they are so unorganized and don’t care to tell you the loan you were initially approved for fell through, then this is the company for you. When we are actually eligible for a loan here in a few months, we will not go to this company. Highly unprofessional.

My experience at CrossCountry Mortgage was great. Tom Morrissey was our loan officer and he was very communicative and informative throughout the whole process. He laid everything out for us right away and the process moved much faster than I thought it would. My favorite part of working with Tom was that he was always available for questions and had a great response time. I would 10/10 recommend.
