I Want to start off by saying I do not do reviews, like ever, but I always read them so I wanted to be helpful to the next person that hopefully intends to work with Garrett Silva at Cross Country. I have purchased and sold quite a few homes throughout my life and I have never came across such a caring individual. From the first call I could tell that the only thing on his mind was to see how he could help me in my unique situation. I got denied by 3 other lenders and countless others did not take the time to talk to me, however Garrett not only got the deal done in record time, he saved me $6300 in closings costs as a cherry on top. He talked to the realtor, the title company, the sellers, he literally was the reason the deal did not fall apart. I told him, if I never had the pleasure of dealing with him my loan would have never closed. I don’t believe there are many good loan officers left in the world, but garret is a true professional and an even better person. Cross country was fine to deal with as a company, no complaint's, but if Garrett ever left and went to mars to do loans , get me in a spacesuit because that’s where I’m going next time I need a loan.

Worst homebuying experience. Cross Country Mortgage lost my future business. Garrett Silva and Jonathan Youssefi of Cross Country Mortgage failed to submit our file to underwriting for weeks and tried convincing me to commit mortgage fraud. Due to them failing to do their job, they proceeded to hide their mistake and tried to convince us to commit mortgage fraud. This occurred on 9/23/2024. They informed me that the only way to close was if I had a friend that was willing to sign a 12-month "lease" for my current home and send me first months rent ($2,400) to deposit in my bank account. I was then told I could return the money the following day and shred the lease agreement. This was only to satisfy the underwriters with my finances. Closing was scheduled for 9/27/2024. During the preapproval process, we verified that we were approved without any contingencies on our current home. We were told due to our finances, we didn't need to sell or rent the home in order to purchase our new home. However, Garrett insisted that our financial situation had changed (it hadn't) and that's why we needed to rent the home, which was currently on the market for sale. After informing Garrett and Jonathan that I was not going to commit fraud, my realtor's boss (Kirk Short) and another mortgage lender Mike Gonzales to make sense as to what really went wrong. On 9/25/2024 it was found that our file was never submitted to underwriting and Garrett and Jonathan were trying to cover it up by saying that my "financial situation changed". As an active duty military member, my family and I were ordered to move over 600 miles away on 10/01/2024. Due to Garrett and Jonathan's incompetency and neglect to federal law, we were not only put in a major financial hardship, we had no place to live while traveling with our entire life's belonging. Garrett nor Jonathan have any business holding a NMLS license. My family is still recovering from the mental health issues these two individuals caused. I will add that Jonathan admitted his mistake, but Garrett continued to speak in a condescending and manipulative way during the entire process.
